A MODERN LOCAL NEWSroom

Local News at Scale means starting with one city, one story, one crew—and building a model where independent journalism can grow through community, creativity, and connection across every platform.

Meet the Team

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world.

  • Bring your reporting skills and curiosity to the front lines of Nashville. As a journalist, you’ll help uncover stories that matter to the community, ask the tough questions, and create content that reaches people where they are—on their phones. Whether you’ve been in the industry for years or are just getting started, there’s space here for your voice and your storytelling.

  • Bring your creativity and curiosity to the front lines of Nashville. As a creator, you’ll help capture stories, moments, and perspectives that matter to the community, turning what you see and experience into content that reaches people where they already are, on their phones. Whether you’ve been creating for years or are just getting started, there’s space here for your voice, your style, and the way you see the city.

  • For students and emerging creators, this is your entry point into digital journalism. You’ll learn by doing —filming, editing, pitching, and collaborating with the team while gaining real-world experience in a fast-moving newsroom built for social media.

  • The producer role is about vision and execution. You’ll help shape storylines, coordinate shoots, and work with creators to turn ideas into polished pieces that live across platforms. A mix of creativity and logistics—making sure stories get told the right way.

  • Every story needs a final eye. As an editor, you’ll bring your craft to the details—tight cuts, sharp captions, and strong pacing. You’ll work hand-in-hand with journalists and producers to make content that feels alive, trustworthy, and distinctly Nashville News.

HOw to work with Nashville News

Nashville News is always evolving, and we’re open to working with people who care about telling stories and serving this city well. Whether you’re a student, an intern, a journalist, a videographer, or a creator, there are ways to collaborate that make sense for where you are and what you’re building.

Some people come on to learn and support the work behind the scenes. Others collaborate on specific stories, projects, or experiments in digital journalism. We’re especially interested in people who are curious, dependable, and thoughtful about how news and storytelling show up online.

This isn’t a traditional newsroom, and it isn’t a one-size-fits-all role. It’s a place to learn, contribute, and grow alongside a small team that’s figuring things out in real time.

If that sounds like you, reach out and tell us a little about yourself, what you’re interested in, and how you’d like to be involved.
